
Spectrum / Indelible Murtceps "Testimonial" (1973) Spectrum were an Australian progressive rock band of the 1970s. They played in large concert halls and at rock festivals. In the early 1970s, pub rock became popular on the Australian rock scene. Because of this, the band moved to simple dance music, and the group was renamed Indelible Murtceps ("murtceps" is "spectrum" if you read it backwards). But in fact, there was a mix-up and there were two lineups: the "Murtceps" lineup with straightforward boogie numbers, but with keyboards, and the "Spectrum" lineup with heavy mid-tempo numbers, but also with keyboards and synthesizers. The subsequent album "Testimonial" was not very successful and the group was on the verge of breaking up after Ray Arnott left it. On April 15, 1973, Spectrum played a farewell concert and broke up.
