    Издатели декабрьского номера журнала "Shindig!" центральной темой и украшением лицевой стороны обложки избрали группу Big Star. Подборка получила название "Fractions And Freedom The Making Of Radio City". Я бы не сказал, что меня очень уж обрадовала возможность почитать про Big Star. Их альбомы не оказывали на меня того магического воздействия, под которое я попадал, слушая множество групп, относимых мной, моими друзьями и прочими поклонниками поп-музыки к buried treasures (о выдающихся исполнителях я уж не говорю). А ведь о многих из них мы знаем очень мало.

   Donovan ("A Gift From Him To Us") тоже не вызывает у меня желания штудировать его биографию. А вот неизвестные мне коллизии творческой жизни джентльмена по имени Chis Farlowe притягивают внимание основательно ("King Of The Hill"). То же можно сказать о таких исполнителях как The Fairies.

   В журнале рассказывается о переизданиях альбомов, новых бокс-сетах, компиляциях одиночных исполнителей и рок-групп. При желании с работами Big Star можно ознакомиться.

    The Big Star group was chosen as the central theme and decoration of the front cover for the December issue of "Shindig!" by journal`s publishers. The selection is called "Factions And Freedom The Making Of Radio City". I wouldn't say that I was very excited about the opportunity to read about Big Star. Their albums did not have the magical effect on me that I experienced when listening to many bands that I, my friends and other pop music fans classify as buried treasures (I'm not even talking about outstanding performers). But we know very little about many of them.

    Donovan (“A Gift From Him To Us”) also doesn’t make me want to study his biography. But the collisions of the creative life of a gentleman named Chis Farlowe, unknown to me, thoroughly attract attention (“King Of The Hill”). The same can be said about artists like The Fairies.

    The magazine features album reissues, new box sets and compilations by single artists and rock bands. If desired, you can familiarize yourself with the works of Big Star.

    Big Star was an american rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1971 by Alex Chilton (vocals, guitar, 1950-2010), Chris Bell (vocals, guitar, 1951-1978), Jody Stephens (drums), and Andy Hummel (bass, 1951-2010). The group broke up in late 1974, and reorganized with a new lineup 18 years later following a reunion concert at the University of Missouri. In its first era, the band's musical style drew on the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, and the Byrds. Big Star was inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2014.
