Syndone "Dirty Thirty" (2023)

   Очередной релиз группы Syndone приглашает нас послушать чудесную прогрессивную рок-симфонию, выполненную в том ажурном ключе, какой заставляет слушать произведение целиком, не переключая треки, не уменьшая громкость музыки. 

   Утверждают, что "DirtyThirty" повествует о кульминации классовой борьбы, разрушении утопического идеала тех, кто по-прежнему упорно цепляется за модель мира, включающую в себя мысль, чудо и смелость искусства. Я бы добавил сюда "интригу", "жизнь", "свежесть" (да ещё много чего)...

   Syndone - это видение, длительное путешествие (из девяти альбомов), желание оставить след в этом запутанном мире. Издатели обращают наше внимание на то, что коллектив внешне как буд-то изменился, но его "душа" осталась в неприкосновенности. Музыканты не подчиняются деградировавшей моде и с горечью признают, что существуют в эпохе заката музыки. Успеха можно добиться только, если это заблагорассудится людям во власти. 

   В аннотации к "Dirty Thirty" замечательно сказано: "И всё же было время, когда альбомы были способны увлечь нас, начиная с артистизма обложек, нарушения правил, лёгкого проникновения через границы, целого набора атмосфер, звуков и продуманных, изысканных, стилистических построений. Это были времена прогрессивного рока; в то время его называли просто "поп", потому что он был популярен. Сегодня осталось очень мало прогрессивного: нет восторга от открытий, мы больше не открыты чудесам и изумлению, мы не отклоняемся от идеи всё более стандартизированного и легко заменяемого человеческого существа". 

   В итоге я увлёкся музыкой и стилистикой альбома, который на время действительно заставил меня поверить в то, что есть ещё музыканты, верящие в профессионализм и искусство, а они обычно идут рука об руку.

    The latest release from the group Syndone invites us to listen to a wonderful progressive rock symphony, performed in that openwork manner that makes us listen to the entire work without switching tracks or reducing the volume of the music.

    "DirtyThirty" is said to be about the culmination of class struggle, the destruction of the utopian ideal of those who still stubbornly cling to a model of the world that includes thought, wonder and the daring of art. I would add “intrigue”, “life”, “freshness” (and much more) here...

    Syndone is a vision, a long journey (of nine albums), a desire to leave a mark in this confusing world. The publishers draw our attention to the fact that the team seems to have changed outwardly, but its “soul” has remained intact. Musicians do not submit to degraded fashion and bitterly admit that they exist in the era of the decline of music. Success can only be achieved if people in power want it.

    The liner notes for "Dirty Thirty" famously say: "And yet there was a time when albums were able to captivate us, from the artistry of the covers, the breaking of rules, the effortless penetration of boundaries, a whole range of atmospheres, sounds and thoughtful, sophisticated, stylistic structures. These were the days of progressive rock; at that time it was simply called "pop" because it was popular. Today there is very little progressive left: there is no delight in discovery, we are no longer open to wonder and wonder, we do not deviate from the idea of ​​ever more standardized and an easily replaceable human being."

    As a result, I became fascinated by the music and style of the album, which for a while really made me believe that there are still musicians who believe in professionalism and art, and they usually go hand in hand.

   It`s italian progrock. Nik Comoglio, the musical heart and soul of this story, has never surrendered to that reality; flanked by the vocal and conceptual talents of Riccardo Ruggeri, the Turin-based keyboardist and composer has truly succeeded in making his mark. “DirtyThirty” is their crowning achievement, the (perhaps) final chapter. Enjoy it like fine wine, in small sips, and remember to stay human. 1992-2022 - 30 years of Syndone anniversary.

   Discogs: Italian progressive rock band founded in Turin/Torino in 1989. Nik Comoglio graduated as architect but, at the same time, studied piano and composition. Still in University, he created several jingles for ads and soundtracks for two semi-professional movies. From 1990 to 1993, he formed the new prog band, Syndone (meaning "Shroud"), with whom he recorded two CD's: Syndone and Syndone, produced by Beppe Crovella from the band Arti & Mestieri with the music label Vinyl Magic Sas in Milan. Two other members were Paolo Sburlati, drums, and Fulvio Serra, bass.
