The Johnny Winter Story (The GRTJanus Recordings) (2023)

    Прежде чем подписать контракт с Columbia Records в 1969 г. и стать одним из выдающихся блюзовых гитаристов в мире, Johnny Winter записал ряд синглов и треков с продюсерами Ken Ritter и Roy C. Ames. На базе этого материала в 1969 г. на GRT Records появился альбом "The Johnny Winter Story", за которым в том же году последовал "About Blues" на лейбле "Janus Records". В следующем году Janus выпустили ещё один сборник - "Early Times" (футурологи отдыхают?). Все они стали завершающими коллекциями ранних работ будущей легенды.

   Теперь материал с этих сборников впервые доступен in one place (я написал по-английски, потому что по-русски это звучит не слишком прилично). Название диска простовато: "The Johnny Winter Story (The GRT/Janus Recordings)". Сборники включают 33 трека на компакт-диске и в цифровом формате. Все треки обновлены звукоинженером, обладателем премии Грэмми, по имени Michael Graves. Альбом снабжён оригинальными примечаниями 1969 г. от продюсера, основателя и владельца лейбла "Testament Records" и историка блюза, известного под именем Pete Welding.

    Before signing with Columbia Records in 1969 and becoming one of the world's preeminent blues guitarists, Johnny Winter recorded a number of singles and tracks with producers Ken Ritter and Roy C. Ames. Based on this material, the album "The Johnny Winter Story" appeared on GRT Records in 1969, followed by "About Blues" on the Janus Records label the same year. The following year, Janus released another collection - "Early Times" (futurists taking a break?). All of them became the final collections of the early works of the future legend.

    Now the material from these collections is available in one place for the first time. The title of the disc is simple: "The Johnny Winter Story (The GRT/Janus Recordings)". The collections include 33 tracks on CD and digital format. All tracks have been remastered by Grammy Award winning engineer Michael Graves. The album comes with original liner notes from 1969 by producer, founder and owner of Testament Records, and blues historian Pete Welding.
