The Luck of Eden Hall "An Introduction To..." (2011)

   Заинтересовался группой The Luck of Eden Hall (правда, немного поздновато), которая долгое время оставалась верна прекрасному психоделическому лейблу "Fruits de Mer". Лидер группы - Curvey Gregory. Последний (?) компакт-диск The Luck of Eden Hall включает треки из различных релизов лейбла и заканчивается парой треков, эксклюзивных для этого сборника.

    Керви ознакомил посетителей сайта с историей его коллектива: "The Luck of Eden Hall образовались в 1988 г. как группа из трёх человек. В то время мы увлекались психоделическими возрожденческими группами, такими как The Church, Rain Parade и Dream Syndicate. Мы самостоятельно выпустили наш первый альбом "Corner Of The Sky" (1989)... Затем подписали контракт с Limited Potential Records и выпустили сингл, получивший восторженные отзывы, но потеря нашего первоначального ударника повергла группу в хаос, а полноформатный альбом, записанный для Limited, так и не был выпущен,.. кассеты были сожжены.     The Luck of Eden Hall распались некоторое время назад - Mark Lofgren выпустил несколько сольных альбомов со своей группой The Thin Cherries; Керви написал музыку к фильмам, выпустил четыре грампластинки со своей группой Custard Flux и появлялся в качестве гостя на альбомах таких групп, как Sendelica, Astral Magic, Anton Barbeau и The Honey Pot. Оригинальной группы больше нет, но на этом сборнике представлена часть её наследия, доказывающая, что оно было можт быть не таким восхитительным как наследие психоделического рока Золотой эпохи, но по крайней мере _______ (вписать по своему выбору).

     I became interested in the band The Luck of Eden Hall (though a little late), which for a long time remained faithful to the wonderful psychedelic label "Fruits de Mer". The leader of the group is Curvey Gregory. The latest (?) CD, The Luck of Eden Hall, features tracks from various label releases and ends with a couple of tracks exclusive to the collection.

     Kervey gave site visitors an insight into his band's history: "The Luck of Eden Hall formed in 1988 as a three-piece band. At the time, we were into psychedelic revivalist bands like The Church, Rain Parade and Dream Syndicate. We self-released our first album "Corner Of The Sky" (1989)... Then signed to Limited Potential Records and released a single to rave reviews, but the loss of our original drummer threw the band into chaos and a full-length album recorded for Limited was never released was released... the tapes were burned. At least I hope they were. We got our first international press when our second full-length album "Belladonna Marmalade" (1994) appeared on Ptolemaic Terrascope and the band did a few small tours throughout the Midwest United States.We played with The Lemonheads, Material Issue and Michael Peters from The Alarm, then took a break.

We decided to start again with the release of "Subterrene" (2002) and "When The Clock Starts To Wake Up We Go To Sleep" (2006). Around the same time, we were asked to create a track for the Fruits de Mer Records release "A Phase We're Going Through" (2010), beginning the surprisingly fruitful collaboration featured on this compilation. One small opportunity can open so many doors and I will be forever grateful to Fruits de Mer."

     The Luck of Eden Hall split up some time ago - Mark Lofgren released several solo albums with his band The Thin Cherries; Kervey has written film scores, released four records with his band Custard Flux and appeared as a guest on albums by bands such as Sendelica, Astral Magic, Anton Barbeau and The Honey Pot. The original band is no more, but this compilation showcases part of their legacy, proving that it may not have been as amazing as the legacy of Golden Era psychedelic rock, but at least _______ (fill in your choice).
